Shaping the Future Through Apprenticeship
As Mechanical Engineering Technician Apprentice, Nico found his passion for welding here, which helped him improve his skills and grades."My journey at PALFINGER started in September 2025, and it’s been quite an experience, especially since my mom, Evelyn, is already part of the PALFINGER family. As an apprentice, my days are filled with hands-on work – welding, turning, filing. It’s exactly what I enjoy; I like working with my hands.
I genuinely have fun in my job, and that’s largely thanks to my colleagues and bosses. The team at the PALFINGER Campus is fantastic – the people are so friendly, and the atmosphere is great. Even the food at the company restaurant in Lengau is delicious. I'm happy to be part of PALFINGER. I value the stability and the growth opportunities the company offers.
When I started my apprenticeship, everything was new – different from school. My grades weren't the best, but then I got into welding. It really clicked with me, and my practical skills, as well as my test scores, started improving significantly. This newfound passion for welding has inspired me to push myself and constantly improve my abilities. I find that by working closely with my colleagues and contributing to a positive team environment, we build strong connections and achieve more together. I feel like I'm laying the groundwork for my career now. Learning all these foundational skills will help me to create great PALFINGER products in the future.
What makes me proud is the quality of education I’m receiving here. PALFINGER motivates me to be better by providing a supportive environment where I can develop my abilities. If I had one message for anyone considering PALFINGER, it would be: " Do your best! It’s not an easy apprenticeship; a lot is expected, but if you want to work with your hands and are willing to put in the effort, it's a fantastic company to build a career."
