From Apprentice to Global Supplier Quality Manager
Daniel's journey started in 2018 with one simple goal: to learn."My PALFINGER story began in 2018, not with the urge of working with steel, but with a desire to learn.I started as one of the first two apprentices specializing in welding technology. Afterwards, I worked in production in Lengau, Austria, both in spare parts manufacturing and prototype construction. I was deployed flexibly and regularly took on new tasks depending on operational needs, often facing different challenges every day. During this time, I also gained my first experience with business trips.
While I initially envisioned a career in carpentry, PALFINGER offered a different kind of growth, and I found myself drawn to the world of engineering. What truly motivated me to transition into my current role as a Global Supplier Quality Manager in GSQM was the opportunity to collaborate more closely with people from different countries, gain insight into diverse cultures and working methods, and continue developing both professionally and personally. PALFINGER gave me the chance to work with suppliers and colleagues from all over the world.
Starting in August 2026, I will take on a new role as Welding Technology Expert in the CC Welding Technology (CCWT) / COE Fabrication department.
Together with my current colleagues, I work on managing all quality-related matters across the entire supply chain to ensure that PALFINGER consistently meets the expectations of its end customers. Our focus lies on process optimization, supporting component manufacturing, conducting audits, and coordinating the resulting corrective actions with external suppliers. In quality management, we don’t just strive to meet standards — we continuously work to exceed them.
What motivates me most is the fact that, even at just 23 years old, I am entrusted with responsibility and confidence. My team consists of colleagues with diverse levels of experience, backgrounds, and ages. I truly appreciate the intensive exchange of knowledge, which has often helped me overcome individual challenges. After mastering these challenges, I always like to take a moment to reflect on what we have achieved together. Therefore, I would like to use this opportunity to say THANK YOU to my colleagues. It is also inspiring to see how our suppliers continue to develop over the years, while PALFINGER supports and grows together with them on this shared journey.
How do I personally interpret “Creating What’s Next”? If I catch myself thinking tomorrow, “If only I had completed the task properly yesterday and put in a little more effort, today’s challenge or project would have been much easier,” then it’s already too late.
So why not aim to do things right from the very beginning — even if it requires more time, effort, and commitment? Of course, I know that’s often easier said than done.
