PALFINGER MARINE and Harding Safety recently signed a contract to provide lifesaving equipment and cranes for two fishing vessels being built in Tersan Shipyard. Each vessel will be equipped with two PALFINGER MARINE knuckle boom cranes, one A-frame fast rescue boat davit crane, and one fast rescue boat.

Harding Safety, which was acquired by PALFINGER in June of this year, will be supplying the fast rescue boats. This contract represents the first results of the Joining Forces strategy. The cranes were sold by Marsis, PALFINGER MARINE’s long-time partner in Turkey: “Tersan Shipyard has been a long-time customer for our cranes and davits. With the acquisition of Harding, we are now able to offer PALFINGER MARINE davits and Harding boats as a single package to this customer,” says Marco Destro, Sales Manager for Davit Systems at PALFINGER MARINE.

The PKM 250 knuckle boom crane has a max. outreach of 12 m and a lifting capacity of 2 t and is designed for general cargo handling. The PRHE 25 A-frame fast rescue boat davit offers a safe working load of 2,75 t with a maximum hoisting speed of 18 metres/min. The Fast Rescue Boats type FRB 610 60 HP offers a maximum seating of eight persons and 22 knots maximum speed.

Bjørn Sturle Hillestad, Global Sales and Marketing Director at Harding, appreciates the future offered by “Joining Forces”: “Purchasing equipment from a single source creates new opportunities for our customers. Offering complete packages of deck and lifesaving equipment will save time, resources, and service visits for our clients.”

Tersan Shipyard is already a highly valued customer of PALFINGER MARINE cranes and our partner Marsis has really opened doors for us in the Turkish maritime industry. Being able to offer our customers even more value as supplier of complete deck equipment systems makes us proud”, says Sebastian Wimmer, Sales Manager for Marine Cranes.

The equipment will be delivered to Tersan Shipyard in June and July 2017.
