Your reliable workhorse. SLD is built for demanding jobs that don’t need to be complicated. Robust design, proven hydraulics, and a crane that keeps working, day after day.
Solid Essentials
Protection On Every Lift
The control electronics monitor load, position and stability in real time, protecting the crane from overload. Standard on every SLD.
Extra Power When You Need It
When the load gets heavy, HPLS raises the hydraulic pressure for up to 10 % more lifting capacity, and slows the movement so you stay in control. Standard on SLD 5.
Smooth, Simultaneous Movements
Run several crane functions at once without them interfering with each other. Standard on SLD 5.
Operate From Where You See The Load
One-person operation from a safe distance, with a clear view of the load. Standard on SLD 5, optional on SLD 3.
Room To Work In Tight Spots
The knuckle boom tilts up to 15° beyond horizontal, so you can work through windows and doorways and around obstacles. On SLD models from 13 mt.
More Reach With Less Space
Stability is calculated from the actual position of the stabilizers, giving you the most lifting capacity your setup allows. Optional on every SLD.
How It Works
What does PALTRONIC do on an SLD crane?
PALTRONIC is the control electronics behind every SLD. Sensors continuously report the crane’s load, boom position and stability, and the system decides in real time what the crane may do next. If a lift would overload the crane, PALTRONIC stops the movement before it happens. It is also what switches on functions like HPLS when they’re needed, so the operator can concentrate on the load instead of the limits. Standard on every SLD.
How does HPLS give me more lifting power?
The High Power Lifting System raises the hydraulic pressure automatically when a lift calls for it, giving you up to 10% more lifting capacity. The crane slows down at the same time, so the heavier load stays under control. You get more from the crane you have, without needing a bigger one on the truck, and with less stress on the structure, which protects its service life. Standard on SLD 5.
What do load-sensing control valves change?
Load-sensing valves meter the oil flow to each function according to what it actually needs. That means you can slew, lift and extend at the same time without one movement slowing another. You get smoother, more precise operation, shorter cycles and less energy lost in the hydraulics. Standard on SLD 5.
Why work with a radio remote control?
The remote sends your commands to the crane wirelessly, so you can stand where you see the load best and outside the danger zone. One person can handle the whole job. Control and speed settings can be adjusted to the operator, and built-in safety shutoffs stop the crane if something goes wrong. Standard on SLD 5, optional on SLD 3.
What is Single Link Plus – and which SLD models have it?
Single Link Plus is a reverse linkage system that lets the knuckle boom tilt up to 15° above horizontal. That extra range makes it easier to work through windows and doorways, under ceilings and around obstacles. It also allows the crane to fold compactly onto the truck bed. Single Link Plus is fitted to SLD models from 13 mt; smaller models have Single Link.
How does HPSC give me more reach?
High Performance Stability Control calculates the crane’s stability from the actual position of each stabilizer. When space is tight and a stabilizer can’t go all the way out, the system adapts the permitted working range to that exact setup. Instead of a fixed, conservative limit, you get the most lifting capacity your setup allows, with clear guidance for the operator. Optional on every SLD.
Applications

Not sure SLD is the right range?
MLT
For work that changes from job to job: more capacity, Power Link Plus and extensive configuration options.
TEC
For the most complex lifts, with fully connected, software-driven assistance systems for unmatched precision.
Still deciding?
Is SLD the right range for you?
The questions we hear most from operators and fleet managers choosing between the three ranges.
What's the difference between TEC, MLT and SLD?
What changes is the control electronics and what they unlock: SLD is the simple specification for everyday lifting. MLT adds the new control package for fleets whose cranes do different work every day. TEC runs PALTRONIC 180 and the LX-6 valve, and is the only range on which boom tip control, memory positions and every HPSC-Plus module are available. The three overlap in size, so you choose the class for your truck first and the range for your work second.
When is SLD the right choice?
When your jobs are demanding but not complex, and you want more performance without added complexity. If your work keeps changing and you need productivity features and configuration options, MLT is the next step.
Does simpler mean less safe?
No. Every SLD comes with PALTRONIC overload protection, and HPSC stability control is available as an option. What SLD leaves out are the assistance systems that only pay off on complex lifts.
What does SLD cost to run?
Pricing comes from your sales partner. SLD is designed for a low total cost of ownership: simple maintenance, predictable service intervals and a durable build for long duty cycles.
What’s the difference between SLD 3 and SLD 5?
Every SLD comes with PALTRONIC overload protection. SLD 3 is operated manually, and a radio remote control is available as an option. SLD 5 adds HPLS, load-sensing control valves and a radio remote control as standard, for more lifting power and smoother, simultaneous movements.
How do I choose an SLD model?
In Australia, SLD runs from 4.6 to 6.8 mt. Start with the heaviest lift you do regularly: the lifting moment it needs, and how far out you need to carry it. That gives you the size class. Then look at the truck, because the class has to match the chassis. Then choose between SLD 3 and SLD 5, depending on whether you need HPLS, load-sensing valves and a radio remote control as standard. The model filter lets you set range, class and lifting moment together.
