HEALTH AT PALFINGER

At PALFINGER, we have prioritised the health of our employees for more than 20 years because we believe that they are our most valuable asset. As part of our occupational health management programme, PALfit, we implement various initiatives and promote activities that support physical, mental and social well-being, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
WHY PALFIT?

PALfit - fit at WORK, HEaLTHY IN LIFE

The concept has evolved to encompass three pillars: physical, mental and social health. To us, health is more than just the absence of illness: it's something we want to address and promote specifically among our employees. Therefore, we take a holistic approach to occupational healthcare with PALfit. Firstly, we guarantee safety and health protection at your workplace, whether you work at a welding machine or a desk. On the other hand, we support you with a wide range of incentives for everyday exercise, healthy canteen meals and training in healthy leadership and balanced stress management. Our philosophy is: Fit at work, healthy in life. We see health as the foundation of our work ability. We follow the Finnish “House of Work Ability” model, which provides the structural framework for PALfit and connects with our corporate values. The focus is on people because health and safety protection concern us all!

Sports & Exercise Offers

We create incentives and increase sustainability in movement by offering a variety of sports and exercise options. This improves the physical and mental wellbeing of our employees. They can participate in team sports, competitions or online training sessions from home. Our diverse range of offerings meets the different interests and needs of our employees. These include group fitness courses such as yoga, power workouts, interval training and back exercises. Changing rooms and showers are provided.

PALfit Surveys with waiplus™

Our PALfit health survey, which uses the Work Ability Index Plus™ (WAIplus™), shows how subjective well-being, skills, motivation, attitude, leadership, collaboration, scope of action and physical and mental stress impact work ability within a company. We also record musculoskeletal complaints and stress profiles. Using these results, we develop measures to promote and maintain your work ability.

Our stress management programmes help you to cope with stress more effectively and avoid negative consequences. We also offer special training sessions for managers on 'Healthy Leadership'. Occupational Health, Health Checks & Physiotherapy

Health should not be neglected. We offer our employees the opportunity to undergo a health check on-site and during working hours with our health partners. Our occupational health service provides advice on preventive care and various other health topics, as well as offering free vaccination advice. Our physiotherapy services range from individual treatments to instructions on proper lifting and carrying during assembly, as well as back training and screenings.

Occupational Reintegration & Health Guides

An unexpected illness or accident can sometimes throw us off track. Our health guides offer employees advice and support with health problems in the workplace, informing them of options and services that can help them return to a healthy working life. These consultations are confidential and free of charge.

Healthy Lunch Break

We place great importance on providing our employees with healthy, balanced meals developed in collaboration with nutritionists. Made from high-quality, regional ingredients, the meals are served in our canteens at many PALFINGER locations. This enables us to provide our employees with a quick, healthy and affordable meal option without long waiting times.  As an alternative, some locations offer meal discounts or vouchers.

Compatibility of work and private life

At PALFINGER, our employees' well-being comes first. Our health management programme is designed to promote the health and satisfaction of our colleagues through a variety of initiatives. We continuously expand our measures to strengthen the balance between work and family, supporting our employees in harmonising their professional and personal needs.

  • Flexible Working Hours Our flexible working time models can be adapted to suit your individual needs. As well as shift patterns at our production sites, our office employees work without core hours. Thanks to flexitime, time credits and flexi-days, our employees can actively shape their working hours. This helps them achieve a healthy work-life balance.

  • Flexible Workplace Whether our employees work from home or from one of our offices, they can organise their working day in a way that best suits their lifestyle. Their personal, family and professional needs are at the forefront. They can work from home for up to 100 days per year.

  • Childcare* Our holiday offer provides childcare for the children of our employees, with locations near our sites. (*not available at all locations)
