Job Summary

As Palfinger North America transitions to a Regional model under the Global Palfinger Organization, the Sr. Financial Project Analyst will play a pivotal role in the alignment of all North America plants by leading critical financial, accounting and business case projects. The Sr. Financial Project Analyst will collaborate closely with the local plant Finance and Operations managers to provide support in business case development and analysis for improved operations. By conducting research, data/financial modeling and in-depth analysis, the Sr. Financial Project Analyst will provide the critical support in providing recommendations for strategic decision making by the executive leadership team. Initially, the Sr. Financial Project Analyst will provide cost accounting support for our manufacturing plant in Canada, by providing pro forma financial analysis and insight within the costing model. They will identify opportunities for cost savings, more efficient methods and will build an understanding how activities and their cost are linked to products, processes, and customers. By tracking monthly costs and production activity, the Sr. Financial Project Analyst will provide valuable insight into areas needing cost reduction and process or profit improvement. These activities will provide the knowledge base and foundation to support future regional business case analysis, modeling and recommendations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Focuses on business improvement initiatives and projects as it relates to Operations
  • Provide research, data extrapolation and financial analysis to test assumptions and provide business case recommendations
  • Drive and support critical financial projects to align and streamline operations
  • Support Operations with financial analysis of cost savings initiatives, working closely with Continuous Improvement team to calculate and validate the financial impact of each project
  • Gather data and performing analysis to create new ideas that help promote key business decisions
  • Provide ad-hoc support for special projects
  • Support the local Finance Managers on costing analysis
  • Provide support across NAM in Labor & Overhead rate calculations
  • Other duties assigned by North America Business Partner- Operations


  • 4+ years of experience as it relates to financial analysis, cost accounting and/or financial statement analysis
  • BS/BA Degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA or CMA certification a plus
  • Strong Excel and analysis skills
  • Ability to collaborate with a multi- department, geographically dispersed team
  • Experience gathering data, performing analysis to create new ideas that help promote key business decisions.
  • Experience in SQL report writers or manipulating large databases strongly preferred
  • SAP experience a plus
