As part of the P21st Team you contribute to and actively shape the implementation and development of the corporate incubator with your expertise and skills and interact with the Strategy and Innovation Engine.
In the role of the INNOVATION EXPERT you work together with the Head of Open Innovation to support and guide ideas, teams and ventures from the first spark until realization. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the global innovation challenge, including innovation workshops, project and idea validation and innovation engagement. 

As a team member you interconnect and engage with the global start-up ecosystem and bring new insights and visions into the team. You keep a transparent overview of initiatives in the early innovation phase and drive related actions and initiatives by yourself.

Your Tasks

Driving the engagement program with global start-up eco systems

  • Facilitation of the global engagement plan with start-up ecosystem
  • Independent validation of business models, start-ups and ideas
  • Driving specific scouting initiatives to find potential investment opportunities

Execution of the Open Innovation Program 

  • Executing open innovation projects and supporting innovation initiatives
  • Executing and responsibility for the annual global innovation challenge
  • Supporting the building of the PALFINGER internal O/I network and establishing connections with business units and development organizations  

Support of idea generation initiatives and exploration of concepts to turn them into reality

  • Content creation for the problem-solution-fit innovation funnel
  • Driving idea creation, exploration, screening and prioritization of projects in dedicated areas of innovation
  • Support, guide and coordinate projects and initiatives for specific use cases or identified focus areas

Facilitation of the PALFINGER Innovation Network engagement

  • Moderation and design of innovation workshops
  • Coordination of and contribution to ideation and concept generation activities

Support to Head of Open Innovation

  • Supporting the design and implementation of Innovation Programs
  • Issuing structured progress reports of use cases and follow-up of initiatives

Your Qualification

  • University degree in a technical or economical field with broad technology interest, specialization in the fields of Innovation Management, Business Model; Venture Capital or Open Innovation a plus 
  • Relevant experience and track record of successfully managing innovation projects and collaboration with start-ups with min. 3 years of prior working experience; support and mentoring of start-up teams and ventures a plus
  • Existing network both in the start-up community and to Innovation Hubs, is nice to have
  • Well organized and structured person with hands-on implementation and project management skills (project management certification is a plus)
  • Highly motivated self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit, who rather asks for forgiveness than permission
  • Flexible personality, who operates well in an intercultural environment and is able to build bridges
  • Can deal with the tension between start-up speed of action and corporate process orientation
  • Strong communicator, knows how to translate and disseminate complex issues
  • Enjoys and has fun working in a creative and innovative team

Minimum gross salary according to Austrian metal industry collective agreement is EUR 42.053,20 per year. We are willing to overpay according to training and qualification.
