PALFINGER Loader Cranes

Height and Bound

Two new assistance systems – combined as a package – will offer even greater safety in the future

The HEIGHT feature ensures that a defined height within the working area is not exceeded. The operator can either enter a specific height in meters directly via the radio remote control or define the absolute height limit by moving the crane tip to the desired position and setting a custom point. Once the defined height is reached, the lifting and extension functions are locked.

BOUND meets complex operational requirements by allowing the operator to independently define and block almost any area on the job site. Thanks to the crane’s full sensor integration, BOUND extends the functionality of SLEWING LOCK. By setting just two points, a “virtual wall” is created, which limits the absolute range of motion within the designated working area.

Product Features

Combined assistance system for intelligent height limitation (HEIGHT) and freely definable work-area restriction (BOUND) using full-sensor technology and radio remote control.

How it Works

HEIGHT: Enter the desired height value directly on the radio remote control, or move the crane tip to the target point and confirm – the value is stored as an absolute height limit. Once this height is reached, the crane automatically stops all lifting and extension movements.

BOUND: Define a “virtual wall” by setting two points. If the crane crosses this imaginary boundary in either a horizontal or vertical direction, the corresponding movements are immediately halted.

Benefits

  • Fast, intuitive setup via radio remote control

  • Safe operation beneath power lines, roofs, hall ceilings and other low obstacles

  • Reliable collision avoidance through an autonomous workspace lock-out

  • Reduced risk of damage, downtime and injury

  • Lower operator workload – full focus on the lifting task
