Job Summary

The Service Trainer will be responsible for North American technical service training for PALFINGER hydraulic equipment in the service network. This role reports to the Regional Training Manager, offering a competitive compensation package and opportunity for ongoing career growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Carry out Technical Service Training for the PALFINGER Service network (PALFINGER companies and Service Partners) with a heavy focus on theoretical and practical coursework development in the following:
    • Hydraulic and Electronic Basic courses
    • Basic Product Training to understand and operate PALFINGER products
    • Advanced courses for troubleshooting, diagnostic and repair work
    • Advanced courses for product installation and setup
    • System understanding (Mechanic, Hydraulic, Electric)
    • Repair and Maintenance processes
    • Process training for in-house developed systems (PALDesk, Paldiag, Udemy etc.)
  • Create training documents based on the PALFINGER document templates
  • Support the management of training participants in the PALFINGER University Skills and Udemy management system
  • Support the course organization team (content setup, training locations, time management, travel management) to organize training
  • Support and work closely together with Service Managers to bring back feedback and market insights to the Service team

Qualifications

  • Technical Degree in mechanical, electrical and hydraulics engineering preferred
  • 5 years experience with installing, setting up, troubleshooting and repairing knuckle boom cranes or other lifting solutions, experience with PALFINGER cranes, preferred
  • Ability to obtain a crane operator license after being hired by the company
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to read and understand technical specifications
  • Experience developing course material and training programs
  • Proficient in MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Knowledge of the following:
    • Hydraulic, Electrical and Mechanical crane functionality
    • Operate PALFINGER crane products, preferred
    • System (Mechanic, Hydraulic, Electric)
    • Repair and Maintenance processes
  • Ability to speak in front of people to deliver training classes (classroom as well as workshop environment)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with others, create training material and deliver training
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, following company safety guidelines and integrating safety into training
  • Ability to apply attention to detail to create, manage and organize documents
  • Readiness to travel (30%) for training trips all over North America. May travel to Austria to receive training
  • Ability to work a full shift in an office, hot and/or cold industrial manufacturing environments
  • Stand, walk, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl and sit
  • Use of hands/fingers to feel or handle equipment/tools
  • Pushing or pulling various weights
