P 240 AXE-E SMART PLUS for tree maintenance
Aerial platforms are often used for garden, park and roadside tree maintenance because they enable quick, precise operation in complete safety.
Some weeks ago a major Palfinger Platforms Italy customer purchased a P240 AXE-E SMART PLUS aerial platform, and gave us their feedback.
The company, which manages a large tree nursery in northern Italy, also undertakes tree surgery work in private gardens. They explained to us that one of the biggest challenges facing staff is the need to work in tight spaces, especially when pruning trees near roads, and the requirement for quick, accurate movement of the aerial part of the machine to ensure agility when working amongst branches.
It was with these needs in mind that the customer chose this platform, considering its partial stabilisation capability, which reduces the overall dimensions, its multifunction electric controls enabling up to 4 movements at once, and its outstanding performances.
The day after delivery, the platform was already at work!
This first job was mainly located inside a garden, so complete stabilisation was used. The operator was favourably impressed by the aerial part’s speed of travel, and by the multifunction controls, which lived up to PALFINGER’s usual high quality standards.
“Even while rotating the turret, additional raising and extension of the boom were easy and troublefree!”
The owner is also very happy with the cataphoresis process used on the paintwork of all parts of the platform, which increases its durability, “a very important factor in our sector”, and the optional brushes to protect the boom extensions, specially developed for tree surgeons.
