Palfinger is seeking a strong Senior Accountant to join the team and work out of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Council Bluffs, IA. Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will report to the Assistant Controller and oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. Responsibilities include ensuring both accuracy and integrity of account balances within the general ledger, reconciliations, month-end closing, provide analytics, streamline processes, and assist the Assistant Controller with reporting and other various duties.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly financial statements
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and record monthly journal entries
  • Prepare and maintain financial data in accordance with GAAP & company policies
  • Record inter-company transactions & billing
  • Create and maintain various reporting packages, including backlog reporting, sales reporting and budget to actual reports
  • Perform variance analysis within department expenses
  • Support quarterly & yearly audits
  • Help support forecasting & budgeting
  • Lead cross functional projects
  • Analyze current processes and make recommendations for improvements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5 years of accounting/finance experience
  • Strong ERP background – SAP experience preferred
  • Strong Excel skills
