Head of Digital Product Line (f/m/d)

On our journey to realize the PALFINGER Vision & Strategy 2030, we focus to increasingly offer fully integrated lifting solutions with hard- and software from one single source and seize new revenue opportunities through data-driven business models. To gain more traction on the latter, a dedicated Digital Product Line is set up, within the strong organizational frame of the GLOBAL PALFINGER ORGANIZATION, enabling close cooperation with existing Product Lines, Sales & Service, the ICT organization and the Corporate Incubator P21st.

The Digital Product Line has a clear mission: to complement PALFINGER's world-class lifting solutions with new, innovative digital products and services with viable data-driven business models. Based on an in-depth understanding of customers’ needs the Digital Product Line will take responsibility for the entire digital product life cycle.

In this key position you have the overall responsibility for the success of PALFINGER’s emerging Digital Product Line and lead the Digital Product Line Management Team. You will represent the Digital Product Line towards customers, the Sales organization and cooperation partners and manage the digital product portfolio over the whole life cycle with your team. As Head of Digital Product Line you will report to the Digital Transformation Officer of PALFINGER. 

Your Tasks

  • Responsible for the overall success of the Digital Product Line
    • Responsible for the definition, dissemination and implementation of the Digital Product Line’s overall vision and strategy 
    • Responsible for the development of scalable, profitable and long-term sustainable business models
    • Responsible to implement appropriate governance, reporting and development of professional portfolio management and controlling
  • Leads and builds a strong leadership- and product line team, fosters collaboration with the Global PALFINGER Organization
    • Establishes and manages the close cooperation and collaboration with the PALFINGER Global and Corporate Functions to align initiatives, drive developments, build internal structures and processes, leverage synergies
    • Manages internal and external stakeholders, builds lasting partnerships, alliances and required development and distribution eco-system
  • Responsible for the Digital Product Line product and feature portfolio
    • Assumes the role of the Global Digital Product Manager, manages the team of product managers
    • End2End responsible for product and requirement management of digital solutions for the whole product lifecycle
    • Orchestrates and initiates the development and operation of stand-alone digital products, digital features and digital services in close collaboration with PALFINGER Global and Corporate Functions
  • Strong focus on sustainable growth and impact on market
    • Establishment of the necessary implementation capacities in cooperation with PALFINGER development departments, sourcing to external technology partners, if necessary
    • Builds on existing and creates new Sales channels and Go-to-Market strategies in close cooperation with Sales Organisation

Your Qualification

  • Passionate personality and motivational leader with more than 10 years of relevant leadership experience, knows how to build and empower performing teams, actively develops talent, leads with purpose and by objectives  
  • Strong customer focus, strategist with excellent business acumen, hands-on leader turns ideas into reality, demonstrates growth-mindset with experience in setting up new business endeavors and managing relevant P/Ls
  • Confident communicator with very good verbal and written communication skills, “bridge builder” able to operate and leverage matrix organizations, takes pride in managing change and helps to structurally overcome gaps, excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to persistently pursue one's goals, willing to grow with the challenge, not discouraged by headwinds or setbacks
  • Experience in creation, development, and market launch of digital products, scaling business models (SaaS, PaaS), preferably experience in B2B manufacturing industry with complex partner, service and distribution channels 
  • Proven experience in digital product and project management, requirement engineering, development of sales and distribution structures, building winning G2M strategies and sales pipelines 
  • Knows how to combine customer insights, technology trends and business model approaches to build winning offerings and product roadmaps for our customers

Minimum gross salary according to Austrian metal industry collective agreement is EUR 54.297,74 p.a. We are willing to overpay according to training and qualification.
