PALFINGER is searching for a Paint Technician.  We are located in Trenton, NJ.  This position reports to the Paint Supervisor.  Use of respirator required.  No more than 24 hour facial hair growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and comply with company policy, safety guidelines, quality system procedures, and 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain a neat, clean and organized work area.
  • Follow SOPs properly
  • Properly clean, mask, plug, tack chassis and parts for paint with supervision 
  • Correctly wash, dry and sand parts
  • Able to identify different basic weldment parts. 
  • The ideal candidate should have grinding/hand tool experience, industrial manufacturing experience, a strong work ethic and willingness to learn! Full time, 5+ year experience desired.
  • Perform all Duties as assigned
  • Understand and follow all written instructions as per requirements, inspection plans, etc.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation at the time of the task.
  • Assume responsibility and care of all company tools in assigned/dedicated work centers.
  • Recommend process improvements to supervisor or management.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly in a safe manner and 100 lbs. occasionally from a floor or bench level to chassis or fixture/Jig.
  • Physically capable to bend, reach, push, pull and put pedestals, carts, parts, frames and Chassis into position for Prepping and Priming. Ability to climb ladders to do work on the chassis by no more than 4’ off the ground.
  • Report to work timely and regularly as scheduled per company’s attendance policy and requirements.
     

Qualifications:

  • Experience painting vehicles
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to update job-related documentation.  Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.

Physical Demands:

Employee is required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; bend; kneel and climb.  The employee must safely lift and move up to 60 pounds on a daily basis.

Work Environment:

This position requires one to work both in a warehouse and production environment. There is a moderate level of noise, heat, cold, dust and dirt.  Employee will be exposed to varying temperatures.
