Primary position for the direct sales of Truck Mounted Forklifts, (TMF) and truck-mounted forklift product lines. This position will be assigned to regional territories of responsibilities along with being designated to specific Key Accounts. The main goal will be in expanding our market share for the Palfinger products with a focus on customers who are currently purchasing competitive equipment. Remote role (candidate should reside in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia) reporting into division headquarters in Tiffin, OH.

Responsibilities

  • Detailed knowledge of Palfinger related TMF products and other key suppliers.
  • Deep understanding of applications/industry segments that align with the products being represented in Industrial Market for lifting and Truck Mounted Forklifts.
  • Produce on demand quotes for customer needs.  
  • Perform on-site demonstrations of equipment and product hand-over as required.
  • Detailed understanding of sales & marketing, costing, inventory, and products. 
  • Detailed knowledge of area customer base and competition. 
  • May be responsible for assigned Company Demo. 
  • Support in developing standard product offerings within the scope of the applications you promote.
  • Coordinate customer demands and deadlines with the production team and engineering staff.
  • Tracking of activities and quotes through the company provided CRM system.
  • Produce quotes that translate customer expectations with accurate costs.
  • Active and courteous communication with internal support 
  • Customer focused approach to both external customers and “internal” customers
  • Courteous interaction with customers, responsiveness of quotes, knowledge of inventory.  
  • Meet and/or exceed mutually agreed upon sales targets to reach our forecasted goals.
  • Employee generally will act with little supervision and must have an entrepreneurial drive in their daily activities. Employee will report directly to the Director of Sales and Business Development.
  • Perform expert on site product demonstrations and equipment hand over to the customer.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED expected minimum. 
  • 7 years’ experience in broad/general sales field or 5 years’ experience within the truck equipment /crane equipment industry.
  • Self-motivated and able to perform job duties and create order intake unsupervised.
  • College courses or Sales Training courses will be a plus.
  • Must live within the assigned sales territory.
  • Knowledge of equipment repair processes and how to build a truck package.
  • Truck chassis knowledge such as engine, transmission, WB, and suspension needed.
  • Extensive experience within the material handling application including knowledge of industry.  
  • Needs and current awareness of strategic accounts and how they operate/purchase
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Windows applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and company CRM.
  • Proven ability to work independently, to take initiative and be resourceful.
  • Strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to drive a CDL class demo truck and follow DOT guidelines.
  • Ability to operate Palfinger forklifts of all sizes to provide expert demonstrations and handovers.
  • Knowledge of articulated crane key industries and markets 
  • Availability to travel overnight within assigned region to prospect new business.
  • Availability to travel overnight out of state for trade show events or other meetings as necessary.
  • Competent computer skills to include completion of travel expense reports, quality email communications, reports, and accurate quotes.
  • Ability and willingness to learn the Palfinger methods and systems.
