Project Manager Palfinger Defense Solutions (m/f/d)


Palfinger offers customer-specific solutions for the defence sector with knuckle boom cranes that lift loads weighing tons, hook loaders for efficient container handling, tailgates for flexible logistics as well as remote-controlled field loaders. We continue to grow and take our performance to a new level, currently especially in the defence solutions department. For this we need a motivated team member with experience and look for you at the Bergheim site as an Project Manager Palfinger Defense Solutions (m/f/d).


  • Project management of customer projects in the defence sector
  • Project coordination from project initiation to project completion
  • Ensuring project success on cost, scope and time
  • Active stakeholder management and communication
  • Point of contact for the project team
  • Internal and external project marketing and reporting
  • Driving projects effective by defined KPIs and implement mitigations if necessary
  • Perform active project risk management
  • Regular coordination and coordination with the project-relevant departments
  • Continuous development of project management processes within the department in accordance to the PMO processes


  • Completed higher technical education (HTL) with severeal years of work experience, sales experience is a plus or
  • Several years of work experience in a technical, or project & process management field
  • Project management knowledge, preferable on PMI best practices and principles
  • Experience in organizational teams, international matrix organisations and multicultural environments
  • Experience in the management of international (customer-) projects preferable
  • Flexible and strong personality operates well in intercultural environment
  • Well organized and structured person with hands on implementation skills
  • Enjoys working in a creative, dynamic and global team
  • Eager to learn, continuously improve and drive research on new project management trends and topics
  • Certification on a project management standard (PMI, PRINCE2, IPMA, SaFe) as a great plus
  • Analytical thinking
  • English and German language skills in verbal and written is a must (min. level C1)
  • Project based willingness for business trips (up to 25%)

Minimum gross salary according to austrian metal industry collective agreement is
EUR 43.314,61. We are willing to overpay according to training and qualification.
