With PALFINGER Smart Loading Assist (SLA) system, almost all the hard tasks from the approach to the release of the container bar can be assisted. Automatical phases enhance the comfort of the user, the safety of the work environment and ease the use of the equipment. The training phase for new employees is reduced thanks a smart and careful assistance pushing the users in the next generation of digital support.​ ​

This PALFINGER’s innovation increases the customer’s productivity at all levels. Smart Loading Assist system adds a 3D camera system, sensors and a high-performance computing unit to the hookloader. The solution supports the driver with intelligent applications automatically activated depending on the step, throughout the entire loading process. ​

Optimum trajectory indication for quick alignment​

SLA indicates optimum approach angle, in a similar way to a visual parking aid, the driver needs less truck movement to place the truck in the right position. Truck and container are always well aligned to ensure an easy loading.​

Hook on and go - automatic detection of the container bar​

Container is caught on the first try whatever the height and the storage condition. It makes no difference whether the container is on a flat surface, on an elevation such as a sidewalk, or in a muddy ditch. The SLA system is able to identify a container and adjusts the hook to the container bar without any human intervention. The driver doesn’t have to enter any data.​

SLA releases the safety latch when the container is completely and securely unloaded and informs the driver via the screen. Container is released at the first try.​

Truck and container are always well aligned to reduce the risk of misalignement that could damage the container or the truck.​

Soft landing function for smooth operations​

Soft landing automatically slows down and stops the movement as soon as container touches the ground. The risk of overpushing the container and damaging storage surface, hookloader, container or truck is prevented.​

Warning when obstacle detected for enhanced safety​

Automatic object recognition increases safety by alerting the driver to the presence of obstacles by constantly scanning the vehicle's path and surroundings. Building materials, construction equipment, people, animals… as soon as an obstacle is detected, the system warns the driver via the touch screen.​

Extended field of view by rear camera​

Thanks to the camera system, the driver always has a look to the rear of the truck, allowing him to closely monitor operations from inside the cab.​
