Director Application and Segment EMEA (f/m/d)
PALFINGER stands for most innovative, reliable and economic hoist-equipment on utility vehicles and in the maritime sector. To strengthen our team we are looking for a Director Application and Segment EMEA (f/m/d) for the Location Bergheim, Austria.
The Director Application and Segment EMEA is building up and leading the existing team of application engineers. You are defining our lead customers and supporting field tests. Furthermore, you are responsible for identifying, collecting and analyzing customer and market needs. You set standards and processes for application engineering – how to collect data, setting up business cases of new products and upgrades/features. Activities such as translating global product marketing to regional marketing – technical wise - are part of your daily tasks. We invest comprehensive effort in our Sales & Operations Planning and you are coordinating the input for the S&OP – Planning. In short you are THE interface to the Product Management team which is part of our Product Line Management team.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Definition of regional product offering in alignment with Product Line Management
- Coordination & Consolidation of price levels and price strategy in regional markets (own and competition)
- Definition of route to market in close cooperation with our Product Line Management
- Definition of processes and standards for application engineering
- Definition of sales channels in regional markets
- Consolidation of product market trends & product developments
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Engineer’s degree or equivalent mechanical engineering/technical education
- 5+ years of sales experience in technology environments
- Prior experience of application and segment management
- Entrepreneurial spirit with equally strong business and technology skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills at all organization levels
- Excellent spoken and written skills in English, German is a plus
- Solution-oriented and creative way of working as well as analytical thinking, initiative, and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills as well as distinctive social and intercultural competence
- Leadership skills in motivation, team building and conflict management with a passion for details

Minimum gross salary according to Austrian metal industry collective agreement is EUR 53.068,12 per year. We are willing to overpay according to training and qualification.
