Introduction:

PALFINGER is searching for a 3rd shift Production Supervisor to work out of our state-of-the-art production facility in Council Bluffs, IA. This position will report to the Production Manager.

Hours for this position: Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. and potentially Friday, 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Responsibilities:

Train and coach production line employees.
Responsible for shift schedule to include workstation assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, overtime assignment and back up for absent supervisors.
Record, track, monitor and report to Management Team daily and weekly production KPI’s to evaluate department performance. Recommend and implement process improvements to meet Operational Targets.
Work with local PPS and IE resources to plan, initiate and implement LEAN Manufacturing and 5S processes.
Project work and project management.
Coordinates successful implementation of manufacturing excellence through a continuous improvement mind-set.
Ability to accomplish staff results by coaching, mentoring, counseling, training and disciplining employees.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent, college education preferred.
Supervisor experience of five or more employees in a durable-goods manufacturing environment strong preferred.
Proven leadership ability through a strong work history.
Microsoft office (Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Word) proficient.
Excellent communication skills with both technical reading and writing skills required.
Bi-Lingual Spanish/English ability a strong plus.
LEAN Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
SAP experience a definite plus.
Ability to work with all levels of employees including shop floor staff, team leads, Local and Regional Management teams.
Ability to train all levels of employees and mentor others in the department.
