Primary position for location’s inventory planning, purchasing and management of products, supplies and services needed for current and future operational needs. This is an onsite position, reporting to the Shop/Service Manager. We are located at 1420 Hildegarde Dr., Birmingham, AL 35215.

Responsibilities

Detailed knowledge of Palfinger products & other key vendors; including current product knowledge and various applications. (30%)
Detailed understanding of inventory system, costing & purchasing lead timelines. (20%)
Maintains current accurate inventory with special attention on slow-moving & obsolete inventory and WIP. Perform required inventory cycle counts. (30%)
Negotiating discounts from local vendors. Work to resolve local vendor grievances and claims against suppliers. Manage location’s Purchase Orders for all vendors; including supplies, inventory & services. (20%)
Management of location’s inventory
Reduction in location’s overall inventory value and inventory turns.
Employee generally will act without direct supervision. Employee may have 1-3 direct reports (Parts Shipping / Receiving)
Next positons considered – Location Manager or Procurement Specialist

Qualifications

3 years experience in broad/general logistics field or 1 years experience within the truck equipment /crane equipment industry.
High School or GED expected minimum.
Skills qualifications including certification are highly desired
