Omaha Standard Palfinger (OSP) proudly welcomed over 30 distributor participants to their first ever Service Managers Meeting held April 16-19, 2018 in Council Bluffs Iowa.

Service Managers, Technicians and Installers from across the United States and Canada received classroom and hands-on training experiences relating to the PAL Pro Mechanics Bodies, Palfinger Service Cranes, Compressors, Spare Parts and Warranty.

Prior to beginning the classroom-style training sessions, the group was greeted by PALFINGER staff at a Welcome Dinner where presentations by Jason Holt – President of Omaha Standard; Balthasar Gwechenberger – Vice President Corporate/Global Service and Tim Arkilander – President of Palfinger North America where guests learned about the many strengths and products PALFINGER has to offer. “This event not only serves as service training for you; but it is also very beneficial to us, as your market and product feedback will be used toward improving our processes and developing future products” said Holt. The in-class technical training and hands on experience took place over the course of the week. The group made their way through four separate training modules – which included topics such as product overviews, troubleshooting, hydraulic issues, hydraulic and electrical fundamentals, spare parts, warranty and they learned about and how to use the 24/7 online service tool – PALDESK. To provide a variety of training methods, the attendees also had an opportunity for practical training with genuine PAL Pro and PSC equipment. Attendees also participated in a factory tour of the Council Bluffs operations, where the assembly and production of the PAL Pro Mechanics Bodies and Service Cranes take place. Participants saw first-hand the production processes and the unique E-coat rust protection paint techniques used on all Omaha Standard products. Heath Reed, Service Manager at Aspen Equipment has worked in the crane industry for over 27 years. Heath and his mobile service truck – a PAL Pro 43 with PSC 4329 Service Crane services all types of equipment. “For most of my career I have worked with other brands, but I can tell you that I really like the Palfinger equipment.” “Overall it is a better built product. It has heavier duty booms. And the hand-held remote is so smooth.” When asked about his experience at the Service Manager Meeting, Heath was very satisfied with what he learned and stated “the information and training I received will be very beneficial in the future”. Attendees left the Service Manager Meeting with a range of new value added knowledge and stronger relationships. “This week was a great cooperation between our global experts from Austria, Canada and the United States and you – our distributors. It has exceeded our expectations and we hope it has yours” stated Gwechenberger.
