PALFINGER 21st Subsidy and Funding Expert (f/m/d)

The position holder is part of the PALF 21st Problem-Solution Fit team and contributes to the implementation and development of the corporate incubator with his expertise and skills and in interaction with the Strategy, Innovation Engine the PALFINGER R&D Team and the Centers of Excellence.

The SUBSIDY EXPERT works together with the Head of Open Innovation and supports the development and drives the implementation of the Subsidy Strategy for the whole PALFINGER organization. The position holder is strongly responsible for the definition and the execution of the subsidy and funding program and related projects, with a clear focus on Austrian and European public funding schemes. Within the Problem-Solution-Fit team he engages the process with the European and in particular the DACH oriented research institute network. He/she drives the execution and documentation of funded R&D Projects. Furthermore he/she acts as a relevant support function for the documentation of R&D tax credits and related reports. He/she keeps a transparent overview of initiatives and projects related to the subsidy strategy and drives related actions and initiatives by him/herself.

Supporting the strategic subsidy programs

  • Supporting the definition of international subsidy program in line with PALFINGER innovation and R&D strategy
  • Responsible for program definition, implementation and execution in collaboration with the Head of Open Innovation and Subsidy

Responsible for the project portfolio of subsidy projects within PALFINGER and P21st 

  • Selection and definition of relevant funding schemes for specific R&D projects
  • Service offering during the application process of R&D projects

Implementation of a documentation and reporting structure

  • Establishing service offers for PALFINGER PLs to execute subsidy funded projects
  • Development and definition of reporting standards and structures

Network to R&D institutions within the DACH region

  • Establishing and fostering access and exchange with relevant R&D institutes

Support of Head of Open Innovation

  • Supporting the design and the implementation of the subsidy strategy
  • Co creation and co development of further subsidy activities and further taking ownership
  • Responsibility for the report, document, follow up …


  • University degree in a technical or economical field, technology experience is a plus
  • Relevant experience and proof points in successfully managing corporate subsidy projects
  • Experience in building R&D cooperation’s and formation of development networks
  • Nice to have existing network to Research organizations in DACH region
  • Experience in the management of larger R&D Projects and there for excellent Project management skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit who rather asks for forgiveness than permission
  • Flexible personality,  operates well in intercultural environment, who is able to build bridges
  • Well organized and structured person with hands on implementation skills
  • Able to deal with the tension between research institutes approach and corporate process orientation
  • Strong communicator, knows who to translate and disseminate complex issues

Location Vienna or Salzburg

Minimum gross salary according to Austrian metal industry collective agreement is 41.452,18 per year. We are willing to overpay according to training and qualification. We are looking forward to your informative application including salary expectations and a possible entry date.
