Currently we are seeking an experienced Mechanic in the Trenton, N.J area.



This role is responsible for the installation of hoists, cranes, container carriers, high loader bodies and other heavy equipment onto the truck chassis. The successful candidate will use their training, experience, knowledge and education conforming to customer specifications and proper installation guidelines/SOP. It is also the responsibility of the mechanic to ensure that all work is being done in accordance with good quality practices and the customer required on-time delivery date.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

  • Read and understand prints, specification and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Mount equipment onto chassis safely, efficiently and correctly
  • Test and inspect application during each completed step
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and apply corrective action
  • Understand and follows all written instructions as per tool requirements, inspection plans, etc.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation at the time of the task
  • Responsible for all company tools in assigned/dedicated areas
  • Recommends process improvements to supervisor or management
  • Use and read a tape measure to 1/32 inch and other measuring instrument or devices
  • Able to use hand and power tools which includes: welding clamps, vise grips, square, wire cutting dikes, scrapers, hammers, impact guns etc.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, push, pull and put parts into position for installation
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly in a safe manner and 100 lbs. occasionally from a floor or bench level to chassis or fixture/Jig.
  • Understand and comply with company policy, safety guidelines, quality system procedures, and 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Report to work timely and regularly as scheduled per company’s attendance policy and requirements.
  • Perform job reporting transactions into JoScan.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-2 years technical experience and a Mechanical background.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to update job-related documentation.
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
