Become the expert in connectivity and data engineering within the PALFINGER 21st IoT & Data Science Competence Team, which is part of the PALFINGER 21st Competence Center! You will contribute to PALFINGER’s corporate IoT & data science architecture in collaboration with other teams from various divisions within the PALFINGER Global Organization.

You are responsible for enabling connectivity for data acquisition within the overall PALFINGER ecosystem: smart products / smart services, smart factory / operations technology and reporting / business intelligence. You perform requirements engineering for the corporate data architecture via your expertise in data modelling, industrial protocols and interfaces. In this vein, you collaborate with external partners and consult internal stakeholders. Your goal is to ensure data life-cycle management: together with corporate ICT you take care of the proper set-up and maintenance of the data processing deployment infrastructure.

Your Tasks

  • lead for data provisioning & connectivity for machine data analytics processes
  • data acquisition from various sources such as DBs / DWHs / data lake / ERP / BI systems
  • facilitate expertise in software engineering / data engineering / computer science
  • technology management of IoT middleware / data delivery services / IaaS platforms
  • definition / documentation of data structures / data models / data lifecycle management
  • provide infrastructure on edge / fog / cloud on VMs / containers / microservices  
  • application of SCRUM methodology / agile methods / documentation & versioning

Your Qualification

  • min. 5 years of working experience in industrial environment
  • education: FH / university degree in automation, telematics, software engineering, computer science or similar
  • experience with higher programming languages such as C/C++/C#
  • experience with data/API modelling: SQL, JSON, XML, OPC-UA, REST and similar
  • experience with Linux, VMs / Docker / Kubernetes, Yocto, GIT 
  • experience with SCRUM methodology
  • experience with data/API lifecycle management and industrial protocols
  • optional experience with open-source data tools such as Apache BEAM, HADOOP, KAFKA
  • optional experience with scripting languages such as Python/Julia, Java/Scala
  • optional experience with IEC 62443 Cyber Security, IEC 61131-3 languages
  • open and communicative, willingness to learn, self-reliant

Minimum gross salary according to Austrian metal industry collective agreement is EUR 42.720,86 per year. We are willing to overpay according to training and qualification.
