Job Summary

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for the North America sourcing strategy for hydraulic equipment.

This role reports to the Director, Procurement, offering a competitive compensation package and opportunity for ongoing career growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the North America sourcing strategy for hydraulic equipment.
  • Executes sourcing activity according to the set strategy such as screening for suppliers, evaluation and development of supplier.
  • Assist in monitoring local, national and international markets through constant benchmarking in order to continuously improve costs, quality and technology
  • Locally negotiate prices and contracts with suppliers, according to the delegation of authority rules, in the defined perimeter and manage the execution of contracts to optimize the company’s competitive position
  • Achieve and implement savings targets for spend coverage
  • Ensure compliance with sourcing processes and track implement process improvements.
  • Implement sourcing group strategies for spend categories and undertake regular review on their effectiveness
  • Establish performance-based contracts, KPI’s and monitor implementation and compliance
  • Communicate effectively and manage relationships with key stakeholders and relevant internal personnel
  • Implement sourcing best practices in terms of strategic sourcing per sourcing group
  • Drive continuous improvement projects over year cost reductions and implementation of supplier managed inventory programs
  • Committed to supporting manufacturing and/or internal customer needs on projects

Qualifications

  • B.A/B.S degree (or equivalent) business or engineering with a strong commercial mindset
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in strategic sourcing in an international manufacturing company (preferably truck/automobile manufacturing with a focus on hydraulics)
  • Proven capability in cost analysis
  • General experience in a manufacturing environment (transformation & assembly)
  • Proficient in MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
  • SAP knowledge is preferred
  • Fluency in one additional language is advantageous (such as Spanish)
  • Willingness to travel
