Technical Director (f/m/d)


The Joint Venture PALFINGER Structural Inspection is one of Austria's first corporate start-ups.   • Define technology vision and strategy together with the managing board 
  • Build up in-depth market knowledge and use your technology understanding to secure our competitive advantage
  • Manage and develop our R&D expertise (AI, Photogrammetry, BIM) 
  • Responsible for the overall software architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, efficiency and availability criteria
  • Define and manage the implementation of the development roadmap in cooperation with internal and external developers 
  • Define and manage operations of our SaaS components
  • Define and implement our technology framework, processes, reporting and governance 
  • Grow and manage the technical team (internal dev team, external dev team) 
  • Communicate your technical vision, strategy and achievements to our stakeholders, such as the advisory board 


  • 10+ years  of experience as a team lead or technical director in a software development environment and/or start-up 
  • Experience in building and leading a high performance development team 
  • Prior development budget responsibilities with more than 5 mio. € per year (company sales over 50 mio. € per year) 
  • Experience in building and scaling sofrware solutions to industrialised products
  • Experience in state of the art agile software development processes
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • A systematic thinker with a fast comprehension and a resilient mindset 
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and hands on mentality

Minimum gross salary according to Austrian metal industry collective agreement is EUR 56.014,98 p.a. 

We are willing to overpay according to training and qualification.
