Fresh wind for smooth food transport

The time factor plays a special role in food transport logistics. For dairy products in particular rapid distribution is absolutely essential owing to their perishability. The refrigerated transport company Südfrisch Kühltransporte GmbH, which handles logistics for the Oberwart dairy, ensures smooth delivery and a seamless supply with a freshness guarantee. Under the motto “Fresh from the farmer everyday within 24 hours” approx. 700 customers in the grocery, bakery, confectionery etc. sectors are supplied with products from the dairy.

With a fleet of six own trucks and if necessary using haulage subcontractors, outlets in Burgenland, eastern Styria and parts of Vienna are supplied.

The company’s own trucks are all equipped with tailifts in the PALGATE-PBS 2000 model series from PALFINGER. Last December four brand-new units were supplied ready for action.

“We have been using PALGATE on our trucks for well on three years now. With the aid of this tailift we can handle all pallets and roller containers without any difficulty. This means that we can guarantee a rapid supply to our customers. What’s more, PALGATE offers an extensive range of services: The FULL SERVICE package provides complete all-round support with a series of maintenance and repair services.

The PALFINGER-authorised workshop which is responsible for us looks after our tail-lifts expertly and regularly – in emergencies even round the clock. Servicing, statutory inspections and repairs are carried out as a precisely defined package without bureaucratic effort. In our business, where vehicles are on virtually continuous duty (trucks operate on a two-shift basis) this service is enormously important and takes a great burden off our shoulders,” comments Kurt Konrath, fleet manager at Südfrisch Kühltransporte GmbH.
