PK 700 T - Work in tunnels and underground systems 
The innovative railway crane wagon ideally fulfils the often seemingly irreconcilable requirements which are demanded by track work in tunnels under extremely restricted space conditions.

Total concept and working area: 

The complete railway crane wagon consists of a towed special car which serves at one and the same time as the crane carrier vehicle and the transport wagon, a transfer car which can be moved hydraulically over the entire wagon length under full load, and the PK 700 T telescopic crane of reduced installation height mounted on it. So that the crane can be optimally used at low working heights in tunnels, the kinematics has been modified, permitting the maximum lifting moment to be reached in horizontal arm position.

Through the unrestricted movability of the transfer car and the unlimited turning range of the crane, work can be carried out all-round the unit, i.e. over both wagon ends and over both sides of the vehicle. In the longitudinal direction of the vehicle the full lifting capacity is always available. In the lateral direction the lifting capacity is optimised for all working conditions as a function of how the crane is supported, the superelevation of the curve and the swingout angle by means of a Paltronic 100 program control unit and is steplessly controlled with regard to adequate stability.

The main performance and equipment features of the PK 700 T in summary:

  • Max. hydraulic outreach 14.6 m; max. lifting capacity 4.6 t at 14.6 m.
  • Cable winches with pendulum roller head to equalise superelevation of the curve; the roller head can be stopped in two positions to match the arm position.

  • Load and Range Management System with Paltronic 100 unit for controlling the lifting capacity as a function of the position of the supports, the track curve superelevation and the lateral swingout angle; incl. overload protection for all sectors and operating conditions.
  • Manually activatable track safety appliance and height limitation. 
  • Control of the crane and transfer car from the crane operator’s cab and by means of radio remote control.
  • Four-stroke diesel drive unit with variable displacement pump, oil cooler and exhaust particulate filter.
  • Four manual swingout, height-adjustable support legs with large plastic stabiliser plates
