PALFINGER, as a family grown business, has been engaged for many years in subjects such as sustainability or CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), even if it has not been under these “so-called brand names”. Sustainability is not a new science but is rather lived thoughout the most different areas at PALFINGER “as a matter of course”.
FAIR ECONOMY
Economic efficiency is reflected in the entrepreneurial way of thinking with the goal of making profit and to grow. It is not short-term profit optimisation we pursue. Longer term stability of a company needs CSR, in particular in difficult economic times.
Topics such as Code of Conduct for stakeholders, prevention of corruption, Integrity Line and fair taxation are therefore in focus in addition to conventional topics.
PEOPLE
An international Group, which had continuously generated record results, is virtually obligated to accept social responsibility, also with regard to its employees. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Growing out of the home region it has always been important for our own interest to use resources both sparingly and economically. Particularly with the plant in Lengau, PALFINGER is playing a pioneering role in environmental protection. Increasing efficiency in production combines economic and ecologic objectives. Thus, climate protection and resource management throughout the entire life cycle of our products have been identified as main environmental aspects over the years.
Climate protection starts with the selection of the primary products, which have different energy intensities, and includes the efficient use of electricity, heating oil, and gas at PALFINGER locations. Furthermore transports between our sites as well as the finished products in operation are also of relevance for our climate. The efficient use of materials like steel and the avoidance of hazardous substances and their recyclability are all within the scope of resource management.
PALFINGER has subscribed to several principles in the categories of fair economy, people, and environmental protection over the years, which still remain valid. They also give an overview of the prime green and social issues and the opportunities and risks arising from them for PALFINGER.
