ISC - Integrated Stability Control
• PALFINGER develops new solution for stability control

PALFINGER has devoted a great deal of attention to the subject of safety in crane operation. Over more than 30 years, numerous advances to protect people and machinery have been developed and successfully introduced into operating practice.

Now PALFINGER is once again presenting a creative solution: The recently developed ISC (Integrated Stability Control) system assists the crane operator to achieve an excellent degree of stability– even when working in very cramped spaces. These conditions occur mainly in densely built up areas and mean that the vehicle can often only be supported on one side. Thanks to the new ISC system from PALFINGER stability of the vehicle is maximised even in these difficult situations.

Depending on the position of the crane boom, the lifting forces are restricted to the current stability support situation. For example: The outriggers are half-extended, the stabilisers fully supported and the crane boom is to the left working side – ISC allows only the working range which is safe for this situation.

The most important technical components of the ISC are a rotary transducer, the stabiliser support sensor system and the proven Paltronic 50 which handles the evaluation electronics. The new system is available for all PALFINGER cranes with hydraulically extendable outriggers.
   Benefits
• Guaranteed stability on partly extended outriggers, thus enabling crane duty in very tight spaces

• Guaranteed stability on vehicles supported on one side only

• Utmost safety for crane operation even when faced with fractional constraints

   How It Works

ISC Abstützsituation

The technical functionality of the ISC is based on a combination of the following:

• stabilizer sensors to record the position of the outriggers and stabilizer rams,

• a shaft encoder on the crane’s slewing system to record the position of the boom,

• and PALTRONIC as an evaluation unit.
