The company was started in 1984 at a small site on Westfield Road in the city centre of Peterborough. It is a family business specialising in the commercial vehicle industry i.e. designing, building and refurbishing commercial bodies. Global also supply and fit ancillary equipment.
As the business progressed it grew out of its small rented premises and relocated in 1989 to a specially designed site with modern workshops which were more suitable for the business, based on the Eastern industrial area of Peterborough. Since 1989 the site has been expanded several times. The company services the local transport industry. Areas covered include parts of East Anglia (i.e. N. Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, N. Suffolk), South Lincolnshire, parts of Bedfordshire, Leicester, Notts, and Northamptonshire).
Many of our customers are large national companies i.e. Ryder, CTR/TIP, Fowler Welch, Hotpoint, Geest Foods, Thrifty, Parcelforce and Royal Mail etc.
During the past twelve months alone the company has undertaken a major refurbishment programme for Ryder/Dairy Crest.
As well as offering excellent workshop facilities an "on-site" customer service is offered.
Global Door UK Ltd also have mobile units which are on call 24 hours a day all year round for both tail lift and shutters, repairs and maintenance. Industrial shutter work is also undertaken.
We are main agents for RATCLIFF PALFINGER, have a large spares department from which parts can be ordered and purchased.
