PALFINGER is searching for a Welder. We are located in Trenton, NJ. This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor. 

Responsibilities:


•    Use and read measuring, squaring and leveling instruments within 1/16”.
•    Able to use hand and power tools which may include: welding clamps, vise grips, square, wire cutters, scrapers, hammers, impact guns etc.
•     Able to properly use and maintain oxy/acetylene and carbon arc cutting equipment.
•     Able to properly use and maintain MIG Welding equipment. 
•    Reads and understands drawing specifications, and instructions according to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
•    Efficiently and safely welds sub-assemblies, assemblies and welding needs to mount truck equipment.
•    Visually inspects welds on completed jobs to ensure quality and specifications objectives are met. 
•    Understand and follow all written instructions as per requirements, inspection plans, etc.
•    Accurately complete all required documentation at the time of the task.
•    Assumes responsibility and care of all company tools in assigned/dedicated work centers.
•    Recommends process improvements to supervisor or management.
•    Understand and comply with company policy, safety guidelines, quality system procedures, and 5S and housekeeping standards.
•    Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly in a safe manner and 100 lbs. occasionally from a floor or bench level to chassis, welding table or fixture/Jig.
•    Physically capable to bend, reach, push, pull and put parts into position for welding
•    Report to work timely and regularly as scheduled per company’s attendance policy and requirements.
•    Perform job reporting transactions into JoScan correctly and accurately.

Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED), 1-2 years welding experience and/or certified training and a Mechanical background.  

 

Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to update job-related documentation.  Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.

 

Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
